Roland CM-30 Portable Cube Mixing Monitor
Roland's CM-30 is a compact, portable, and versatile monitor speaker. 30 watts powers a 6.5" 2-way speaker, and it's rugged box and grille make it ideal for live use, or situations where you'll need to transport it. It has 3 input channels, with one of those being an XLR input for use with a microphone. A bonus is that there is a Stereo Link feature that enables two of these to be connected together with just one cable, with the result being stereo sound.
We see this as being ideal for a number of applications. With an XLR input, this is a perfect compact amp for a quiet gig...plug your mic and acoustic guitar into it, and you're ready to go. Or plug your keyboard in along with another instrument or two and use it as a compact monitor. A convenient threaded hole on the bottom of the CM-30 allows it to be attached to a microphone stand, so you can get the speaker closer to your ear.
We really like the versatility of this monitor. We often have customers who are interested in purchasing a set of speakers that can work well in their home studio or music room at home, and do double duty as a stage monitor for the occassional performance at church or the coffee shop. Until the CM-30 came along, there weren't many options...small studio monitors aren't rugged enough to be transported, and small keyboard amps are too big to sit on desks at home. The CM-30 solves this! A pair of CM-30's sit on your desk or microphone stands and sound great, but they can easily be moved to a small performance.
